Expanding Your Horizons

EYHN powered by TBG

Our one-day Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) STEM conferences stand on a 45+ year legacy of women who wanted to rewrite the narrative for girls in STEM. In this program, a network of volunteer-led groups (who are members of the EYH Network) align with colleges and universities, and workspaces in 11 states to produce one-day STEM conferences for almost 7,000 girls* a year.

The goal of these events is to increase the number of girls engaged in a fun, one-time group event which exposes girls to broad STEM content, careers, and supports positive STEM identity, and creates a community, so they continue their STEM engagement.

EYH conferences, both virtual and in-person, involve:

  • Focus on middle-school aged girls* who are predominantly BIPOC girls from under-resourced communities
  • Fun, hands-on, engaging broad STEM content experiences
  • Career orientation in broad STEM areas
  • STEM professional role model interactions
  • Community building
  • Equitable approach to STEM learning
  • Resources for girls and caregivers to sustain girls’ STEM engagement post-event
