Equipping Educators

Techbridge Girls equips out-of-school-time (OST) educators (teachers, nonprofit facilitators, and volunteers) to deliver our gender-responsive and culturally-relevant STEM curriculum to girls* and gender-expansive youth, with an emphasis on engaging BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) girls from under-resourced communities through programs for elementary and middle school-aged girls.

 All of our programs feature:

  • Award-winning curriculum, including:
    • Hands-on, experiential activities
    • Broad STEM content that sparks STEM interest and joy
    • Story-based curriculum that centers BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) scientific brilliance
    • Community building that promotes confidence and belonging by uplifting BIPOC contributions to STEM
  • Pre-kitted materials to accompany all lessons
  • Role models who reflect and celebrate students’ identities, through videos
  • Caregiver connection resources that empower caregivers to sustain their engagement with students in STEM outside of the program
  • Educator training on STEM and equity-centered pedagogy, which builds educator confidence in delivering hands-on experiential STEM and teaching diverse girls
  • Professional Learning Communities that provide best practices, troubleshooting, and safe, supportive spaces to reflect on successes and challenges
